Drug trafficker arrested

Five men were arrested for drug offences last weekend in two separate incidences.

On Friday two plain clothes RCMP officers were on foot patrol in Whistler when they were approached by a male who offered to sell them marijuana. They agreed to buy 32 grams of the drug from a 22-year-old White Rock male. Once the transaction was complete they arrested him for trafficking a controlled substance. He is to appear in North Vancouver provincial court at a later date.

In the early hours of Sunday morning police were called to the underground parking lot near Whistler Way where they found two local males and two men from North Vancouver about to use cocaine.

They were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. One of the North Vancouver males was also found to be in breech of probation and in possession of a "butterfly knife".

In total RCMP seized, along with a weapon, a total of 1.8 grams of cocaine and 12.5 grams of marijuana from the foursome.

Meanwhile Whistler Pemberton RCMP responded to 56 calls over the weekend, which included five loud parties, two disturbance calls and one arrest.

There were also four car accidents over the weekend, one of which was believed to be alcohol related and resulted in a 24-hour suspension.
