Whistler leads B.C. in Cancer Society daffodil sales

A group of 50 volunteers, including Whistler Fire Services, helped Whistler to lead all communities in B.C. in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days fundraiser.

With snow falling, Whistler sold over 20,000 daffodils last week and raised more than $14,000 for cancer research and community funding.

"It feels great to see daffodils decorating so many local businesses," said Whistler organizer Jacki Bissillion.

The final tally includes $3,000 in corporate purchases from businesses like Whistler Real Estate, Nesters Market, The Keg, North Shore Credit Union, Royal Bank and Tourism Whistler.

Other supporters include Whistler Resort TV, Delta Whistler Suites, Hot Box and Apres Restaurant.
