This free Special Story Time Program will be held from 10:30-11:30 am, Saturday June 18th, at

the Whistler Public Library. 3 to 6-year-olds and their caregivers are

welcome to come and make a gift for Dad. Please pre-register for this event

There were many events last weekend to celebrate Environment Week so I thought I would update you on some of the latest resources the Library has on the environment, ecology and sustainability.

Willard, Bob Ð The Next Sustainability Wave : Building Boardroom Buy-in . c2005. This book considers why many companies have refused to accept sustainability strategies and provides strategies for persuading corporate leaders about the importance of sustainability.

Turner, Nancy J. ÐÊ The Earth's Blanket : Traditional Teachings for Sustainable Living. c2005. This is a stimulating look at First Nations stories, cultural institutions and ways of knowing and proposes how systems of traditional ecological knowledge can be recognized and enhanced.

James, Sarah Ð The Natural Step for Communities : How Cities and Towns Can Change to Sustainable Practices. c2004. This book offers inspirational examples of communities that have made impressive changes toward sustainability, and explains how others can achieve community change.

Eco House

[DVD]: ideas for a healthier home. c2004. Provides information on house construction using green products and sustainable practices.

Chiras, Dan & Wann, Dave ÐÊ Superbia! : 31 Ways to Create Sustainable Neighborhoods. c2003. A book of fun and practical ideas for creating more socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable neighborhoods
