What: Summer’s end clean up days The Whistler Bottle Depot is extending its hours this weekend to help people get rid of their summer recycling. The depot will be open from Thursday Sept. 1 to Tuesday Sept. 6, with the exception of Sept. 5 when the depot will be closed. Recycle your used beverage containers from 12-4 p.m.

When: Sept. 1-6, 12-4 p.m. Closed Monday, Sept. 5

What: Rotary Corn roast The Rotary Club of Whistler is holding its 25th annual Labour Day Weekend Corn Roast. Fresh Chilliwack corn will be cooked on site. All proceeds from sales will go to fund various charitable projects such as the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, Rotary Student Exchange Programs, the Head of the Lake School at Skatin Nation, and overseas projects in Romania and Tanzania. 

When: September 3-5, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

What: WAG doggie wash/bake sale Whistler Animals Galore is holding their annual doggie wash and bake sale fundraiser. There will be yummy food for both people and their pets. WAG asks for a minimum $5 donation for each dog wash. Anyone interested in baking a treat for the sale can contact WAG at 604-935-8364.

What: bungee with luna If you’re on a tight budget with no spare change for fun perks, this is your chance to bungee jump over the Cheakamus River! LUNA is holding a bungee jumping event for 18-year olds and over for a significantly discounted price. Tickets are $25/$27. Transportation is included. What: 5 km cops for cancer run The annual Cops for Cancer fundraising run is back again. Register at Lost Lake Park at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. race start. Don’t forget your $20 race entry fee. The first 100 racers will get free T-shirts and there’s a chance to win more prizes!
