My five favourite albums right now:

1. Up — Great Big Sea

"Great for driving on the highway! This band is fun to listen to and sing along with. Canadian music worth a listen."

2. Rat Trap Snap! — Coco’s Lunch

"This a cappella women’s group from Australia gave a concert here at the beginning of August. What amazing voices and talent!"

3. Worlds Blysse — The Mediaeval Baebes

"I love Mediaeval music and the Baebes have brought it into the 21 st Century. Who said ‘classical’ music had to be boring?"

4. Inspired by Bach (The Cello Suites) — Yo-Yo Mah

"My most favourite CD. Yo-Yo Mah is always a joy to listen to. These six unaccompanied suites by Bach are so complex and yet can sound so pure and simple."

5. Music for Flute & Harp — Jean-Pierre Rampal/Marielle Nordmann

"When I’m learning new music, I often listen to recordings of it. I’m working on two of the pieces on this album right now and know that my interpretations are different. That’s what making music is all about."

Last words….

"Keep an open mind and listen to lots and lots of music – especially performed live by real people."
