Kidsport Whistler will be continuing to extend financial support to children and organizations in Whistler this fall. Details will be available at Strut Your Stuff, the annual fall community registration fair, Saturday, Sept. 10 at Spring Creek Community School, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

In its ninth year, Strut Your Stuff is a one-stop shop for local families to register for fall programs or to gather information about the numerous community organizations and events.

Community organizations should call Meadow Park Sports Centre 935-PLAY or Spring Creek Community Centre 935-4222 to reserve a table for the event. A small fee is charged to displayers to cover advertising of the event and setup. Displayers are encouraged to set up interactive displays such as mini games, video stations, and on-going demonstrations.

Whistler Minor Hockey and Whistler Figure Skating will operate a large equipment exchange in the Daisy Rooms upstairs. Gear can be brought in by 9 a.m. A café will be open for refreshments in the Cheakamus Room with proceeds going to Whistler Secondary Team Sports.

Kidsport Whistler is the local branch of KidSport TM — British Columbia. The Whistler organization channels funds to children, 5-18 years, in our community to help with sport registration or equipment costs. Thanks to numerous donations and the continuing support from title sponsor, The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Kidsport has been able to honour its motto: "So all kids can play."

Kidsport Whistler was established in 1996 and became the first community model in B.C. There are now 15 Kidsport organizations in the communities of Burnaby, Campbell River, Quesnel, Cranbrook, Kelowna, Mission, North Peace, Penticton, Vernon, North Vancouver and Victoria. The National organization has been strengthened to 10 provinces and territories with the addition of Ontario.

For all the details talk to one of the Kidsport Whistler representatives at Strut Your Stuff or call Whistler Kidsport Co-ordinators Sheila Mozes 604-905-9393 or Janet MacDonald 604-932-0113. The local contact in Pemberton is Stephanie Coughlin, 604-894-5979.
