What: CHRISTY CLARK AT WOW The former BC MLA, Deputy Premier and Vancouver Mayoralty contender Christy Clark will be the guest speaker at the next Women of Whistler meeting. She will talk about her political story and how she balances her public life with her family and personal time. Registration is at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25/$28. What: YOUTH CENTRE OPEN HOUSE Check out what the Pemberton Youth Centre has to offer for local teens. There will be coffee, snacks, tunes from Chicks with Picks, a brief word from the mayor. A skate park will be set up in the gym followed by a big screen showing of ‘Lords of Dogtown.’

What: Squamish skatepark opens Don’t miss the official opening of the Squamish Skatepark, complete with food and drinks, proskater demos and the Vancouver band Guitarsenal.

What: BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS Whistler Village Church celebrates the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi with a special Blessing of the Animals as part of their regular Sunday morning service. All proceeds to go to shcool libraries at Spring Creek and Whistler Secondary.
