The Ultimate Power Duo brings its comedic lyrics, ballsy rock and cocky vocals to Punk Night, Sunday, Oct. 23 to the Boot Pub.
"Exploding out of the basement with three homemade EPs in quick succession, each one a breathless gale of three-chord punk, the Ultimate Power Duo finds itself verging on becoming a phenomenon," raved a Georgia Straight music critique of the Power Duos performance on the Vans Warped Tour. "The band has acquired more press than many acts will see in a lifetime, and a nationwide buzz that is quickly becoming deafening."
The rocking hard beats and humour-driven lyrics drive the success of these two Saskatoon boys and one gal who performed at the Canada Music Week 2005, Nerve Festival of Guns and Vans Warped Tour as well opening for Sloan and Finger Eleven.
From tracks explaining Hitler to kids by singing about his ice cream chain that only serves vanilla, to poking fun at the growing popularity of Christian rock with "Buhdda" Rock tunes, inside comedy pairs with power-punk riffs.
The Power Duo describe their sweaty rock n roll music as "straightforward, unapologetically punk sound demolition rock."
The Ultimate Power Duo will be joined by the fast and fun music of Vancouvers Third Lit.
