Warren Miller does it again with another epic ski film filled with all the powder, high-flying cliff drops and humourous spills we’ve all come to know and love.
Delve into steep terrain and blue bird skies at the Whistler premiere of Higher Ground Friday, Dec. 30 at both 7 and 9 p.m. at MY Millennium Place. Artist call
Whistler may be a sporting town, but ever noticed the incredible outdoor artwork? Maybe the handiwork of Haida artist Lawrence Knowles in Meadow Park or Penny Martyn’s Kokanee Salmon tile tribute gate at the bottom of Lorimer Road?
The Whistler Public Art Committee are inviting artists to participate in a sculpture competition with the winning entry showcasing their sculpture in Village Square, further contributing to our growing outdoor gallery.

Jungle Auditions
Youth can step into the spotlight in song and dance with Missoula Children's Theatre's production of Jungle Book on the near horizon Saturday, Jan. 7 at MY Millennium Place.
Auditions for the kid-cast production will be held Monday, Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. Myrtle Philip Community School.
The touring theatre company facilitates the production of musicals by combining local talent with a show-in-the-box professional production team.
Missoula provides the costumes, scenery, props, make up, directors and lead actors while communities provide the supporting actors, giving youth a chance to participate in a fully-produced musical.
All students grades Kindergarten to Grade 7 are encouraged to come out. Rehearsals run from Jan. 2-7.

Arts hits the streets
Take in live music and hilarity with Tourism Whistler’s Street Entertainment Dec. 30 to Jan. 1.
The Rutherford Creek Trio strums up acoustic tunes at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Town Plaza Gazebo, followed by reggae grooves and crowd favourites from Kostaman and Jana Marie Dupuis at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Watch out for the Whistler Fashion Police a.k.a. comedian Michelle Bush of Porta Parties at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. as well as the fiery dancing of the Fire Moths at 4:30 and 6 p.m. at Mountain and Village Square.
North Pole Central’s holiday blues
The velvety rhythm and blues sounds of Grammy Award winning Ray Charles will come to life once again at a festive tribute A Ray Charles Christmas Thursday, Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at MY Millennium Place a.k.a. North Pole Central over the holidays. International recording artist Mike Henry will perform Ray Charles’ legendary classics accompanied by an eight-piece band. Tickets are $35 for adults and $28 for children.
Also as a part of North Pole Central celebrations, MY Place hosts a variety of activities for both kids and adults. Christmas movies include Home Alone Friday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. followed by Scrooged at 4 p.m. Kids can busy their hands in holiday crafting from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 kids create Whistler keepsakes and Friday, Dec. 30 New Year's masks.
