US Whistler’s annual mushroom
festival
is back complete with mushroom talks and
walks. Lichens are also on the program this
year
with BC’s top lichen expert Trevor Goward.
The
festival begins with a slideshow
presentation
at MY Millennium Place on Fri. Oct.
13
at 7:30 p.m. for a $8/$10 donation. The
walking
tours begin Sat. Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. Meet
outside
MY Place with a $10/$15 donation. The weekend
ends with a cooking demo by Ophrah
Buckman
at 1 p.m. at MY
Place.

LUMPY’S EPIC This
scenic 12 km single track run
begins
at One Mile Lake in Pemberton. A series
of
technical donwhill descents brings the
runners
back out into the Pemberton Valley.
Bring
food and drinks for the post race potluck.
Registration
begins at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $15.

HOUSE This is Fire Safety week.
Help
local firefighters promote fire safety and
enter
to win great prizes at two open houses. The
first
will be held on Sat. Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to

p.m. at the village fire hall. The second will
take
place on Sun. Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m.
at hall #3 in Spring Creek. Enjoy the BBQ.
All
proceeds will be donated to Muscular
Dystrophy.
