Whistler’s Kristina Rody won the Under 40 category of the Sea 2
Sky Trail Running Series with another first place finish at the Lumpy’s Epic
run on Saturday.
Rody finished first in all three of the races she entered in
the six-event series, finishing with 20 points. Kristina Bangma was second with
21 points, while Whistler’s Lisa Kallio was third with 20.
For women 40 to 49, Elspeth Miller was first overall with 37
points in five events. Ann Taylor was second with 35 points, and Carolyn
Daubeny was third with 19.
Walli Kruger won her category in three runs to place first in
the 50 and Over standings with 30 points, while Cheryl Johnson, Pam Pedlow and
Kathie Wagar earned 10 points each.
Volker Schneider of Vancouver was the top Under 40 male with 44
points in five events. Chris Downie was second with 22 and Jamie Armstrong
third with 16.
Mt. Currie’s Sean Wolfe won the 40 to 49 category with 38
points in four events (two wins, two second place finishes), followed by Roger
Shirt with 28 points (one win, two second places), and Scott Pass with 16
points.
Jim Bowers was the top 50-Plus runner, with 49 points in five
appearances (four wins, one second place). Imre Sorban was second with 22, and
Daniel Havens third with 18.
The S2S Trail Running Series included Comfortably Numb on June 25, Squamish Thunder on July 15, STORMY on Aug. 12, Loop The Lakes on Sept. 10, the Rubble Creek Classic on Sept. 24 and last weekend’s Lumpy’s Epic.
