Mount Currie man killed in car accident

Vehicle rolled over north of Pemberton

A 34-year-old Mount Currie man died following a car accident on Highway 99 north of Pemberton early this morning.

Pemberton RCMP responded to a single vehicle roll over just north of Airport Road at approximately 1:48 a.m. Jan. 12. A vehicle with two occupants was traveling northbound on the highway when it failed to negotiate a curve and entered the west ditch.

One occupant was ejected from the car during the roll over. He was taken to the Pemberton Health Care Centre where efforts to revive him were not successful.

A second occupant, who was not wearing his seat belt, was transported to North Vancouver for further assessment with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
