The Whistler Children’s Centre is organizing a walk through the village Feb. 13 to protest the federal and provincial cuts to daycare centres.
All are welcome to take part in the “Protest Walk About” which will start at 11 a.m. at the Whistler Children’s Centre off Lorimer Road. Kids are welcome too.
The cuts may mean an increase in fees for parents using the facilities and changes to staffing levels.
“I am very concerned,” said WCCS director Kari Gaudet who is urging parents to get hold of their local politicians and voice their disappointment over the cuts, which will start coming into effect at the beginning of the summer.
