The Whistler Chamber of Commerce will be holding its 17th
Annual American Express Service Recognition Awards dinner to recognize
outstanding individuals and businesses on March 28
th
at Dusty’s Bar
& Grill.
As in the past, employee recognition will be at the heart of
the 2007 awards night with Whistler businesses selecting one or more “Employees
of the Year” to receive an award.
The awards night is a way for businesses to recognize and thank
employees for their hard work during the winter season. Tickets for the dinner
are just $55 per nominee with a reduced rate of $40 for spouses and guests. The
Whistler Chamber encourages all its members to nominate one or more employees

This year’s awards will also see the addition of three new
categories to include individuals and businesses who have demonstrated high
service standards. The categories will include:
The Above & Beyond Award will recognize three top
individuals who have gone out of their way to deliver an outstanding guest
experience.
The Best in Service Excellence Award will recognize two top
businesses who consistently demonstrate an excellent customer service
experience. This award will be presented to two different size categories: big
(over 50 employees and small (1-49 employees).
Out of the Box Service Award. This business award will be given
to the Whistler business that has incorporated innovative ways to create
atmosphere, build relationships and encourage repeat visits to Whistler.
The decision to present more service awards is part of the
revamped Whistler Spirit Program and resort-wide Service Strategy the Whistler
Chamber introduced last fall.
Anybody can nominate a person or business for these special
awards. Nominations should include a description or short story of how the
guest experience was impacted. The winners will be selected by the Chamber’s
