Whistler athletes took part in two triathlons over the past two weeks, the Peach Classic Triathlon in Penticton on July 15 and the Subaru Sooke International Half Iron Triathlon on July 22.
At Penticton, racers followed an Olympic distance course with a 1,500 metre swim, a 40 km bike, and a 10 km run.
Whistler’s David Higgins placed 19 th overall and eighth in the men’s 35 to 39 race in 2:12:29.
Dawn Weberg-Titus was second in the women’s 45 to 49 group with a time of 2:33:23.
Karin Kafkova was 20 th in the women’s 30 to 34 race in 3:16:25.
In the Sooke International Half Iron, which included a 1.9 km swim, an 86 km bike and a 21.1 km run, Woochan Jeong placed third in the men’s 35 to 39 age category with a time of 5:53:06.
