A Pemberton resident confronted a suspicious male who was trespassing on his property at around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
A foot chase ensued, but the suspect managed to evade the homeowner, and the police were called to investigate.
The suspect was not only trespassing at night, but was peering into a bedroom window, watching two young girls getting ready for bed and trying to get them to come outside.
The suspect is known to police, and was described as a 27-year-old white male, about five feet eight inches tall with brown hair and a beard. He was dressed all in black.
RCMP brought a dog to the scene to track the suspect, but eventually lost the suspect’s trail.
However on Tuesday evening, Whistler RCMP spotted the suspect in the village and arrested him.
He was held by police until his first court appearance Wednesday morning, where he faced charges of mischief, trespass by night, and voyuerism.
B&Es on the rise
Sea-to-Sky RCMP are cautioning Whistler residents to be on the lookout for burglars, after a recent spike in the number of break and enters.
Residents should ensure they take all necessary precautions to prevent criminals from entering their homes.
The RCMP suggest purchasing a security system or motion detection lights, forming a neighbourhood watch program, and ensuring that doors and windows are locked.

Noisy long weekend
Sea-to-Sky Regional Police received a high number of noise complaints over the weekend.
Among the 97 calls for service they received over the B.C. Day long weekend, RCMP responded to six disturbance calls, seven counts of public intoxication and 19 noise complaints.
The RCMP reminds residents and visitors that noise complaints can result in hefty fines.
There were also nine impaired driving calls, four collisions, three driving complaints, three mischiefs, eight thefts, and seven break and enters.
Drug bust
After a lengthy investigation, Whistler RCMP executed a search warrant at a Squaw Valley Crescent residence Friday afternoon.
The search resulted in the arrest of two males and the seizure of over $6,000 worth of marijuana, cocaine and magic mushrooms.
The two suspects are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and will appear in North Vancouver court on November 24.
Meanwhile, a routine traffic stop early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a passenger and driver.
Police discovered bear spray on a passenger in the rear of the vehicle, and arrested him for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break-in instruments.
The driver of the vehicle was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance, but according to the release, charges are only being pursued against the rear passenger. He is scheduled to appear in North Vancouver court on Oct. 3.
