What: SEA 2 SUMMIT The 11 th running of one of North America’s most scenic and accessible adventure races, Sea 2 Summit will feature the classic route from Cates Park in North Vancouver. Day one includes a mass paddling start on the waters of Indian arm, leading to trekking and biking through the Indian River Valley and Mamquam River Valley to Squamish. Day two is an epic journey through Sea to Sky Country, ultimately finishing in Whistler.

When: Saturday September 8 – Sunday September 9.

What: TERRY FOX MOVIE A documentary on Terry Fox’s life will be shown in a warm up to the Terry Fox Run on Sunday. All are welcome to watch this movie that was launched on CTV last year. By donation.

What: WHISTLER WRITERS FESTIVAL The annual Whistler Writers Festival returns to Whistler for its sixth year with more than 20 leading Canadian writers, poets, broadcasters, and cultural commentators. What: TERRY FOX RUN Walk, run, wheelchair, or bike either 5 km or 10 km in support of Terry Fox’s legendary ‘Marathon of Hope’. No registration fee is required, however donations are graciously accepted. To date, more than $400 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry’s name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held across Canada and the world. For more info, call 604 966 2643.

What: FUNDRAISING GOLF TOURNAMENT Enjoy playing in a fun golf tournament while helping raise money for local community projects, including the Pemberton Children’s Centre and the Pemberton Library. $125 per player, $45 for dinner and auction. When: Thursday September 20

What: KIDS FUN DAY Join the Whistler Rotary Club at this fun filled day for kids of all ages in a celebration of the end of summer. Events include face painting, arts and crafts, and old-fashioned races, such as sack races and egg and spoon races. Music entertainment and bbq lunch also available. Event runs rain or shine. Admission by donation.
