On Tuesday afternoon, the Westin Resort & Spa held a series of events, which ranged from blindfold bed-making to a shampoo bottle relay, for staff to compete in against Delta Village Suites and Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa staff.

“With the 2010 Olympic Games around the corner, we thought this would be a great way to salute our housekeeping associates by showing off their skills and abilities with some fun sports events,” Bryce Beatty, director of operations for the Westin, said in a press release.

“Since most hotels in Whistler will be celebrating this special week, too, we thought we’d challenge a couple of our fellow accommodation partners to see just who has the best housekeeping team in Whistler…”

The events were toilet paper toss, speed vacuuming, obstacle course, soap bar construction, shampoo bottle passing relay, and blindfolded bed-making.

Delta employees came out on top, scoring 34 of 40 possible points and receiving the gold toilet brush trophy.
