Local cross country skiers won’t have to wait until January to race this year, with the confirmation that the Hollyburn Jackrabbits Ski Club are hosting the first Coast Cup race in the Callaghan on Dec. 15.

If that sounds like a long way away, the Jackrabbits are also hosting a practice race on the trails on Dec. 8, using a 2 km course for regular racers, and a 1 km trail for the younger Atom and Peewee Jackrabbits. The sign-up deadline for the practice is Dec. 6.

For the record

In last week’s issue on joint passes for the Lost Lake cross country ski trails and the 2010 Nordic centre trails in the Callaghan Valley, it was not made clear that the passes do not include the trails owned and operated by Callaghan Country Wilderness Adventures. Those pass prices are available at www.callaghancountry.com.
