What: TILE PAINTING Drop by and watch artist Penny Eder-Martyn work on tile projects or paint detailed designs on ceramics. You can also view works of art throughout the asymmetrical house. For more info, contact 604-932-0671 or kree8tiv@telus.net .

What: CORE READING PROGRAM Join the Whistler Core for great story books that will inspire curiosity in books for kids! This program is geared towards children two to seven years old. Each week will have a different story to read and a new and exciting adventure to experience. $2/child.

What: FIRST NIGHT 2008 Back again to ring you into the New Year, Whistler First Night is the place to be on December 31. There’s something for all ages at this annual alcohol-free event – singers, fire masters, jugglers, clowns, craft tables and so much more. When: Monday December 31

What: POLAR BEAR SWIM The Squamish Polar Bear club will be hosting its infamous Polar Bear Swim in the waters of the Howe Sound at Squamish’s Nexen Beach.
