RCMP looks for help in identifying attackers

Bus assault took place Jan. 11

Police are looking for help in identifying four males in there twenties who may know about an alleged assault of a tourist on Jan.11.

“We are looking for anyone who can help with information to come forward,” said RCMP Cst. Afzeel Yakub of Sea to Sky Policing Services.

The alleged assault took place on a bus at around 8 p.m. after a middle-aged visitor from the Lower Mainland asked a group of males to quiet down as they were creating a disturbance.

“The males proceeded to assault the victim and then they left the bus,” said Yakub in a statement.

The man was kicked and punched as his wife looked on.

The young men then left the bus.

The victims didn’t call the RCMP about the assault until Jan. 21 said Yakub.
