Like the Oscars for the movie
world, the Georgie awards are the coveted prize in the B.C. building industry.
This year Whistler homebuilders brought home the gold in five different
categories.
“The Georgie Awards recognize
the best and most innovative projects in our province,” said winner Bob Deeks
of RDC Fine Homes. “The competition was at an extremely high standard so we are
honoured to be presented with this award.”
RDC Fine Homes won gold in
two different categories for their Toad Hollow project.
That project won gold for
Best Single Family Landscape Design/Renovation, as well as for Best Residential
Renovation over $650,000 along with Progressive Concept Design.
Three other local companies
also won gold.
Blue Ice Construction Limited
won Best Single Family Detached Home 3,000-3,999 square feet for their
Mountainview project. Innovation Building Group won for Best Residential
Renovation under $75,000 for their Hungerford Renovation. And Vision Pacific
and Progressive Concept Design Ltd. won gold for Best Single Family Detached
Home Valued Over $2 million for the Young House project.
The Georgie Awards ceremony
was held in Vancouver on Friday Feb. 8.
