Squamish will celebrate the summer solstice in style for the
second year running, with the Squamish Equinox Rock Festival (SERF).
The festival was created last fall through collaboration
between the District of Squamish and community members.
Now, eight months later, they’re ready to get the party started
again, with a list of bands that’s sure to rock your socks off.
Starting at noon on Saturday, June 21, the oceanfront will play
host to local bands, llama rides, slack lining and more. Headliners take the
stage at 3 p.m., featuring performances by local group, Black Swade,
Newfoundland-based band, Hey Rosetta!, and Whistler’s own Kostaman and the
Vibrations. An afro-funk orchestra based out of Vancouver, Five Alarm Funk, and
West African guitarist and singer, Alpha Ya Ya Diallo, are also on board to
perform at SERF.
Tickets to the festival are $25. For more information, visit www.serfmusicfestival.com .
