The Victoria-based National Coaching Institute (NCI) is offering a satellite coaching program in Whistler in conjunction with the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific, providing an opportunity for locally-based coaches to get to the next level.
The NCI will mirror the NCI’s level four program, similar to the eight-month diploma program offered in Victoria but will be available for a part-time basis over a full year. Coaches will also have two years to complete the program requirements.
As well as the diploma program, the NCI will also host local and regional coaches at workshops or Tasks that will be taught by Canadian Sport Centre staff and regional NCI instructors.
At 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, Whistler NCI coordinators Cindy Thomson and Diana Rochon will be hosting an information session explaining what the NCI is all about, what programs and support will be available to coaches, and scholarship opportunities that are available.
