Rocky Mountaineer to run VIP train during Olympics

Province of Alberta to showcase itself, Sea to Sky area to clients

Rocky Mountaineer Vacations announced today that it will operate a VIP corporate hospitality train to Whistler during February of 2010 on behalf of the Province of Alberta and its clients.

The Rocky Mountaineer train will run daily between North Vancouver and Whistler using a special train comprised of the GoldLeaf Service dome cars and lounge cars.

Rocky Mountaineer has partnered with brand.LIVE, an international event management company, to operate the corporate hospitality train. The deal includes use of the Rocky Mountaineer Station in Vancouver for special events in February 2010.

We are proud of our long standing relationship with the Province of Alberta and are thrilled to enter into this joint venture where together, we will welcome the world to Western Canada in February of 2010.

This special run of the Rocky Mountaineer train will showcase Alberta and the Sea to Sky region between North Vancouver and Whistler.

Brand.LIVE is a marketing, production and sponsorship company based in Vancouver. The company produced Victoria’s Festival 150 event in August. Other clients include the Vancouver Sun Run, Lillith Fair Festival, Sara McLachlan, Nelly Furtado and the governments of B.C. and Alberta.

During its regular operating season between mid-April and mid-October, the Rocky Mountaineer travels between British Columbia and Alberta. Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, which also offers the Whistler Mountaineer train, is the largest privately owned passenger rail service in North America.
