What: WHISTLER SLIDING CENTRE RE-OPENING The Whistler Sliding Centre is open to the public again and ready for touring. The Canadian Olympic Team will be training there throughout the month of October. Canadian athletes are expected to own the 2010 podium, and this is a chance to see them get there.

What: OLIVE TREE CIRCUS FUNDRAISER Local activist Sara Jennings is raising funds for a trip to Palestine with the Olive Tree Circus, a troupe made up of nine adults and two children. It’s a group that includes Palestinians, Jews, Christians, Americans and Canadians.

What: BC 150 CELEBRATION SCAVENGER HUNT The Whistler Public Library is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the province of British Columbia. A family scavenger hunt will kick off the event, followed by a lecture from noted historian Jean Barman.
