Expect to see about a 3.64 per cent tax increase when the taxman pays you a visit this month.
Even though the Resort Municipality of Whistler upped its portion of the tax bill 8 per cent this year, taxes for schools, hospitals and other provincial areas have gone down.
In other words, explained Lisa Landry from the RMOW, Whistler residents can expect to pay approximately $14 extra dollars this year for every $100,000 of property they own. Businesses will likely see a 4.1 per cent tax increase, or $59 for every $100,000 of property.
Meanwhile, last year's total tax bill increase was 1.5 per cent, with a 5.5 per cent increase from the RMOW.
Tax notices will be mailed out to Whistler residents May 15 and are due back on July 2.
