What: RE-IMAGINING GREEN: PANEL DISCUSSION WITH ENVIRONMENTALISTS The Squamish Environmental Conservation Society invites the community to enjoy a thought-provoking panel discussion about how to energize the environmental voice and influence the green vision in Squamish.

What: SLING SHOT HIP HOP LUNA's Cinema Politica series presents a screening of "Sling Shot Hip Hop," which tells the stories of young Palestinians living in Gaza, the West Bank and within Israel as they discover hip hop. It's a story of young people trying to cross the borders that divide them.

When: Monday November 2, doors 6:30 p.m., film begins at 7 p.m.

What: WHISTLER SPIRIT PROGRAM BREAKFAST The Whistler Spirit Program starts with a breakfast presentation featuring Doug Lipp, formerly head of corporate training at Walt Disney University. Register at www.whistlerchamber.com for a talk on "Creating Service Magic."

What: 100 DAYS TO GO CELEBRATION We only have 100 days left before the Games hit us with the force of an arctic wind, so let's celebrate! Meet 2010 Games hopefuls and talk wth VANOC venue teams about the Sliding Centre, Creekside and Whistler Olympic Park. There will also be musical performances.

What: RECYCLING 101 WITH CARNEY'S WASTE SYSTEMS The Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment hosts a presentation about the waste that Whistler produces. Learn about what kinds of compostable bags are accepted at the composter.

When: Wednesday November 4, 6 p.m.

Where: Westin Resort and Spa

 

What: GREEN DRINKS Following the AWARE meeting, join local environmentalists for a few drinks and a "green" conversation. It's a great place to network with Whistler's thriving green community. Beer and appetizers are by donation for an event that brings Earth nuts together all over the world.

What: OLIVE TREE CIRCUS - SLIDESHOW OF TRIP TO PALESTINE Sara Jennings presents a slide show of her trip to Palestine with a circus group. See photos from her journey and learn about the Palestinian territories, and enjoy a theatrical performance to wrap up the evening.
