Chamber rallies employees with pre-Olympic celebration

Employees invited to party

Whistler employees: bring your Olympic questions and get a free beer at a special event put on by the Whistler Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.

"Let the Party Begin" will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 27 between 4 and 7 p.m. at the Westin Resort and Spa, and will include information about transportation, Whistler Live events, Olympic and Paralympic sport events, and how residents can prepare for the Games at home.

Attendees can expect a high energy, fun and interactive event, explained chamber president Fiona Famulak. Mountain FM will be broadcasting live from the party. There will also be a free beer, free appetizers and a chance to win prizes every 30 minutes.

"The prompt (for this event) is that most of our other events are employer-focused," explained Famulak. "We are conscious that other than our Spirit Program, we don't really engage our employees."

Famulak added that the aim of Let the Party Begin is to give Whistler employees what they need to work professionally and enjoy the Olympic and Paralympic Games personally in February and March.

People are encourage to bring their questions, said Famulak, and they should also be prepared to answer some questions to be eligible to win prizes like grocery gift certificates and Olympic and Paralympic event tickets.
