Whistler's Victoria Whitney made a big step towards the World Cup circuit this season with her addition to the national development team program in the fall. Now she is one of 10 athletes selected to represent Canada at the 2010 FIS Alpine World Junior Ski Championships - making her second, and final, appearance at the event.

Whitney, who has two Nor Am podiums this season, will be joined by Brittany Phelan, Madison Irwin, Stephanie Irwin, Erin Mielzynski, Catherine Morel, Julia Roth and Victoria Stevens.

There's no Whistler connection on the men's team, but Sasha Zaitsoff of the B.C. Ski Team will represent the province. Other skiers include Erik Read, Trevor Philip, Andy Trow, Tyler Werry, Kelby Halbert and Philip Brown.

The races get underway on Jan. 31 at Les Houches and Megeve, France.
