From the opening ceremonies on March 12 to the closing ceremonies on March 21 the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program will host athletes, volunteers, supporters and the general public at WASP house in the Dubh Linn Gate pub.

The house will also raise money to help fund the creation of the Jeff Harbers Adaptive Sports Centre, a new facility on Whistler Mountain to house adaptive ski and snowboard gear and help support the growing program.

As well as providing a venue for WASP during the Games, the Dubh Linn Gate and Pan Pacific have raised $2,300 for the project, on top of contributions from American Friends of Whistler, Scotiabank, Whistler Rotary, Whistler Blackcomb and others.

The 2010 Legacies Now Society and Province of B.C. also recently made a $2,000 contribution to WASP through the Local Sport Program Development Fund, specifically targetted towards building their para-nordic programs. The funding will go to certify eight volunteers as community coaches, host adaptive training clinics for athletes with disabilities, and offer the opportunity to try and practice biathlon.
