Figure skaters win medals at Jingle Blades

The Whistler Skating Club sent a competitive team to the annual Jingle Blades Figure Skating Competition in White Rock at the end of November, one of the club's first opportunities to compete against skaters from across the Lower Mainland.

 

The Whistler Skating Club sent a competitive team to the annual Jingle Blades Figure Skating Competition in White Rock at the end of November, one of the club's first opportunities to compete against skaters from across the Lower Mainland.

Five skaters from Whistler competed in the Performance Program category. Mio Chigama and Eme Leigh both achieved bronze awards, while Sarah Cull, Arabella Ng and Abbey Dekok earned silver awards.

In the Pre-Preliminary category, Jordynn Anderson earned a bronze medal. Savanna Ellott and Caitlin Patterson were fourth in their category, and Nikolas Rohde and Madeline Blaser both placed fifth.

In the Preliminary category, Noam Steele earned a silver medal in his group. Lydia Roberts was sixth and Jandzeela Tompkins 7th.

Tess Thompson competed in the Senior Bronze category, where she placed 16th.

Club alumnus Lisa Nakajima, who is now competing in Vancouver, also recently completed the B.C. Sections, placing seventh in Novice Ladies.
