Whistler Youth Foundation calling for 2011 grant applications

Foundation has previously awarded grants to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), a Whistler Secondary School musical production and the Nordic Ski Club

The Whistler Youth Foundation is seeking applications for its annual grant program.

Its primary mission, said President Ali Calladine, is to "support the amazing youth oriented projects and groups in Whistler.

"We want to make sure we have as much going on for youth as possible in Whistler."

Calladine, a Grade 11 student at Whistler Secondary School said in past years the Foundation has awarded grants to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the Whistler Secondary School's musical production and the Nordic Ski Club. It is always looking to support youth centered projects and groups "looking for help financially," said Calladine.

The Whistler Youth Foundation (WYF) continues to volunteer at the Whistler Valley Trail Run, and is currently working with Mount Currie in the Pemberton Valley on a cultural exchange project.

The WYF is a youth led organization under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of Whistler (CFOW).

To be eligible to apply for a grant, your organization must be youth oriented and have non-profit status (this includes sponsorship from or association with another non-profit status organization).

The deadline for application submissions is 25 March 2011.
