What else is going on at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival?

A round-up of everything else we had too little time to cover

Mascot Mayhem

Friday, April 22, 10 a.m., Village Square

It's Big Air Bear's eighth birthday and you all know what that means. A birthday cake followed by sugar-induced silliness by grown men in funny suits! Hooray!

As always, there will be a competition between such favoured characters as Potato Jack and the RCMP Safety Bear, who will justifiably keep his silliness at a minimum.

Mascots are supposed to be invited to participate but if some dude in a carrot suit shows up, it's unlikely anything will happen...unless the Safety Bear gets involved.

"We're a very inclusive group of people at the TWSSF, so if Mr. Carrot showed up he'd probably be greeted with a big hug and a slice of cake," says multimedia events producer Lilli Clark.

This event is perfect for families, unless their children are afraid of mascots.

Whistler Dogfest

Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

People should simply now leave their dogs at home during the biggest week of the year. That's craziness, people! Pure craziness.

What is not crazy, however, is Paws to Dance, a "So You Think You Can Dance?" competition - for your dog! Too cute.

Make sure to pencil in the seminar with canine behaviour specialists Amber Cottle on what it takes to become the next Cesar Millan, and make an appointment with the holistic vet to trace the lineage of your precious Rosco. All proceeds will go to support Whistler Animals Galore, so, yeah. Bring your dogs.

The End

Saturday, April 23 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Whistler Conference Centre

"This is The End... exhausted friends, The End."

You might think after nine straight days of partying, organizers of the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival would want to give you a break. Think again. The 10 days wrap up with The End, a showcase of electronic music that will feature artists such as RJD2 and a "Ghetto Funk" showcase that will include Stickybuds, Jpod, the Funk Hunters and Bryx.

Tickets for the event are $35 each and you can buy them online now at www.wssf.com .

Best of the Fest

Sunday, April 24, 8:30 p.m., GLC

For those who missed out on all the ticketed events, or for those who have problems letting go, there's one final chance to bathe in the glory that is Crankw... er, TWSSF.

The winning projects from 3PO, 72 Hour Showdown, Intersection and Pro Photographer Showdown will be shown, along with highlights from the Film 10 awards gala.

There will also be a DJ for those who fear a festival-less Whistler, for now they can be guided through this terrible low with the power of dance.
