A drug and alcohol education workshop called Parents as Preventors will be held at Whistler Secondary School May 12. The popular session is presented by the Alcohol-Drug Education Service from Vancouver and sponsored by Whistler’s Committee for Substance Abuse Prevention and Education. Parents will learn techniques for positive parenting. The central role of parents as educators, role models, communicators and coaches is emphasized in the workshop, which has been presented to approximately 1,500 B.C. schools and community groups. The workshop will take place in the multi-purpose room, May 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. To register, call Whistler Secondary at 905-2581.
