The third annual root house country rockin’ Pemberton Barn Dance will soon shake the hay dust off the rafters. Presented by the Pemberton & District Chamber of Commerce and the Pemberton Lion’s Club, the Barn Dance will rock Saturday, July 17 with live music by Lost Saloon. Last year more than 500 people from the corridor attended the event. Doors open at 8 p.m. and stay open until 1 a.m. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are available from most downtown Pemberton retailers. The event will be held at Jack and Linda Ronayne’s farm, 8675 Pemberton Meadows Road., 18 km from the PetroCanada, through downtown, up the valley, and just before the Outward Bound facility. Directional signs will be posted starting at PetroCanada. Tickets are $15 and include chilli-on-a-bun. To help plan for a safe ride home, a taxi van shuttle service will operate from 7:45 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. leaving from in front of the Centennial Cafe. No minors are permitted and ID will be required.
