What: Used book sale - Who doesn't love, love, love a used book sale? (Pique staffers certainly do) The Whistler Library's Giant Used Book Sale is coming up. Get ready to poke through thousands of books of all genres - adult and children, fiction and non-fiction, thrillers, romance, and all that falls between will be for sale by donation. Put down your laptop and get back to the root of all things good for your intellect and imagination. Crack open those books and breathe in the smell of your potential. Books are good for the soul and the mind (and nothing makes a living room look better than a stack of good novels sitting by a comfy chair). All proceeds go toward Whistler Public Library.

When: Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: in front of IGA Marketplace.

 

What: Sacred flight - Follow extreme filmmaker Peter Chrzanowski's documentary on his paragliding quest through Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Canada, Chile, USA and Peru. Admission by donation.

When: Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m.

What: Food Bank Tours - Come down to the Whistler Food Bank and tour the facility. Learn why clients are using the food bank, what kind of service they are provided with while there, and what each client receives. If you have ever donated to the food bank, this is your chance to see how that donation was used.

When: Monday, May 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

What: Hunger awareness day Tuesday, May 31 is Hunger Awareness Day. Whistler Community Services will be hosting a family dinner in support of the food bank. Bring a non-perishable food item or a small cash donation and enjoy a BBQ dinner with your family.
