Despite double-digit accumulations of fresh snow on the weekend over 81 young skiers and snowboarders turned out for the Whistler Blackcomb Under 13 Ski and Snowboardcross on the weekend, with training and qualifiers on Saturday and more training and final brackets on Sunday.

In Female Ski 11 to 13, Carlin Mann placed first, followed by Keeley Tafel, Brooklyn Higgs and Iyla Nordin. Madison Moore won the consolation final to place fifth.

In Male Ski 11 to 13 it was Alex Auger on top, followed by Harry Bartlett, Jack Forsyth and Phillipe Joncas. Jamal Hasan won the consolation race.

In Female Ski 10, Jillian Deane was first after three rounds of racing, followed by Julia Ross, Paris Boucher and Sophie Joncas. Allison Shan won the consolation.

In Male Ski 10, Nathan Holm was first, Nikolas Rohde second, Alexander Makarevski third and Zach Ross fourth. Keaton Chiu led the consolation.

In Female Ski 9 and Under, Caitlin Wallin finished on top, trailed by Rebekah Brain, Josephine Howell and Kaila Lafreniere. Robyn Schenk won the consolation.

In Male Ski 9 and Under, one of the biggest categories, Jack Morrow took the win, followed by Brendan Moss, Jack MacDonald and David Lee. Justin Quattrocchi won the first consolation race and Jackson Baker the second.

In Male Snowboard 11 to 13, Jonathon Williams was first, Devon Stroud second, Jason Lewis third and Qyiyak Bikadi fourth. Kobe Burton topped the consolation.

In Female Snowboard 10 and Under there were two racers, Samantha Deally and Jennifer Lafreniere. They each won one of the two races, with the qualification times from the previous day breaking the tie to put Deally on top.

In Male Snowboard 10 and Under it was Finn Finestone in first after two rounds, followed by Zakk Harman, Jadyn Chomlack and Brendan Keuling.

'Winter' to screen in Whistler

The Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) is hosting the Whistler Premiere of the movie "Winter," this Friday, March 23 at Millennium Place. There are screenings at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., and tickets are $15 at the door.

The film features exotic locales around the world and incredible skiing, but it's also the last film that Sarah Burke worked on before her tragic accident.

All proceeds go to WASP.
