It has been a year where there has been both bounty and challenge.

Destination visitors are coming back, but how they vacation has changed, making the way businesses look after their customers even more important. As Pique celebrates everyone who works to make the resort the success it is — whether they are listed in the Best of Whistler or not — one phrase from Chris Skene at the Wild Wood Restaurant Group sticks: “We couldn’t do it without the locals.”

The Best of Whistler is a celebration of everything the locals love about Whistler and want to share with all those who visit us from near and far.

This year, close to 1,500 people cast their votes for the online survey — thanks!

We also included some new categories this year, like “the shop you would most like to see in Whistler” and “best pickup line” — make sure you check-out that category as it had everyone in the offi ce chortling for hours.

2012 saw a new council in action, a ramped-up entertainment and concert series, the announcement of the opening of a major new art museum — the Audain Museum — and 2013 is tempting us with great adventures on the snow.

So get your favourite beverage, put your feet up and enjoy this year’s Best of Whistler — and congratulations to all.
