Cheeying Ho, the executive director of the Whistler Centre for Sustainability, has been named an honouree for this year’s Canada’s Clean50 awards.

Canada’s Clean50 celebrates outstanding sustainability achievements across 16 categories, selecting 50 individuals or small teams from about 500 nominations, putting a face on sustainability. The work of these sustainable development and clean tech leaders is making a difference across Canada, and serves as an inspiration to others.

Ho was named in the “Cities” category.

"At a time when some organizations are greenwashing or falling behind in their sustainability efforts, it’s important to recognize the many remarkable leaders across Canada who are making progress and making a difference,” said Gavin Pitchford of Delta Management Group, founder of Canada’s Clean50 awards, in a release.

“We found dozens of great stories across the country. The work done by the Clean50 honourees is truly inspirational.”

This year, Dr. David Suzuki, will be honoured with the first Canada’s Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Clean50 Summit on September 26th in Toronto.
