Commercial operators impacted by the Tyndall Stone Lodge fire last weekend are picking up the pieces and getting on with business after the blaze. Some businesses are close to reopening their doors in new locations.

The Bell Store has moved just up the street to the retail space formerly occupied by Dinky Dawgs. The communications company signs are in the new space and the location is being transformed from a hot dog outlet to a communications services and products store.

Kelly Oswald from The Oracle reported she is still looking for a new space. Finding an appropriate location is a challenge, she said.

“Every time we thought we had a spot — someone else got it first,” said Oswald.

Purebread is taking over the former Mexican Corner location in Marketplace. A message was shared via Twitter indicating Purebread and Mexican Corner struck a deal.

“We are giving up our old location for a few months to our friends of Purebread that recently lost their space,” the Mexican Corner announced via Twitter.

"Yes it is true we are busy renovating now," said Paula Lamming of Purebread. "Hope to be open before Xmas."

The new location for Purebread is just a block away from the old location, which suffered the most damage of the Tyndall Stone commercial spaces following the first fire at the building the evening of Friday, Nov. 22.

The second fire late the following morning caused a significant amount of water damage to Taxback, David’s Tea, Comor and Los Sombreros. Calls to those commercial operators and messages left by Pique over the last week were not returned.
