As council gets set for the last meeting of 2013 several long-standing issues will be on the table for discussion.
These include an update on the use of plastic bags in the resort - during the Committee of the Whole meeting, a report looking for council's support for the formation of a committee to look at making the May long weekend less troublesome, and the signing of a Letter of Agreement between the RMOW and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
Other items include:
• A presentation regarding the Whistler 2020 Development Corporation by Eric Martin, Chair of the Whistler 2020 Development Corporation.
• Presentations by the Howe Sound Women's Centre Society, Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, Whistler Off Road Cycling Association and Sea to Sky Community Services regarding the 2013 Community Enrichment Program report backs ($10,000 and over).
• An information report regarding updates to the RMOW's website, whistler.ca.
• An information report regarding the RMOW's third quarter investment holdings, as of September 30, 2013.
Council will also receive the final draft of the Antenna System Siting Protocol, and will be asked to consider adoption of the policy. Staff brought forward the draft Antenna System Siting Protocol in early September, which is available for public and industry comment until Oct. 15. The comments received have been considered and where feasible incorporated into the council policy for consideration.
