Cruise With a Cause is roaring into Whistler with some help from four actors from the CBC TV series, Heartland.

The five-day motorcycle fundraising marathon visits different B.C. communities to raise money for Sophie's Place Centre for Child Development; the roadshow arrives in Whistler on Monday, Aug. 25, with Heartland stars Graham Wardle (Ty), Shaun Johnston (Grandpa Jack), Alisha Newton (Georgie) and Gabe Hogan (Peter).

There are two parts to the visit. The first is a family-party event at Bounce in Function Junction with trampolines and other activities, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is a minimum $20 donation that goes entirely to Sophie's Place, says Bounce manager Jason Gauthier.

"I met this gentleman here at Bounce who said he was part of organizing the event, and it was children oriented. He liked us and asked us to take part," Gauthier says.

The second part of the day is an adults-only party at The Longhorn Saloon in Whistler Village from 7 to 10 p.m. The band One Bullet Down performs and for a $10 donation, participants get a signed photo from a Heartlands cast member.
