The provincial government is looking at ways to maintain the sustainability and quality of the B.C. health care system.

The Legislative Assembly's all-party Select Standing Committee on Health has been meeting with ministry representatives, health-care researchers and stakeholders to seek their views on how to address the challenges faced by the health-care system.

The committee is now looking for input from the public.

The submissions must address any or all of the following questions: How can we improve health-care services in rural British Columbia? What long-term solutions can address the challenges of recruitment and retention of health care professionals in B.C.? How can we create a cost-effective system of primary and community care built around interdisciplinary teams? What best practices can be implemented to improve end-of-life care? How can we enhance the effectiveness of addiction recovery programs?

Submissions should include an explanation of the anticipated benefits and a justification of the costs involved for implementation.

To make a submission to the government or for more information, visit www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/health/index.asp.

The deadline for submissions is Dec. 31, 2014.
