Arvin Golic, one of four suspects accused of killing another teen in Whistler on May long weekend, has been released on bail.

The 18-year-old, who was charged with manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of Burnaby's Luka Gordic, was granted bail by a judge in North Vancouver provincial court on Monday, June 15.

Gordic's family reportedly left the courtroom immediately after the decision without waiting to hear what conditions were imposed on Golic.

The CBC also reported that a fight outside the courthouse between the families of the victims and the accused had to be broken up by court sheriffs.

Three other teens, who, as minors cannot be named, have been charged in the case. Two of the suspects have since been released on bail, while another was denied bail last month and remains in custody.

Earlier this month, Gordic's family launched a petition online calling for Crown counsel to up the suspects' charges from manslaughter to murder, arguing that the May 17 attack was premeditated. It has drawn nearly 25,000 signatures so far.

"Threats for Luka's life were made all day, but he chose to walk away only to be attacked and gruesomely stabbed several times in the chest," the Change.org petition read.
