1. The Resort Municipality of Whistler was incorporated on Sept. 6, 1975, making the resort 40 years old this summer. The first mayor of the RMOW was Pat Carleton who served from 1975 to 1982. The current mayor is Nancy Wilhelm-Morden. And if you missed that one you haven't been reading the Pique! 2. C. Isn't the answer always C? Roughly 10,500 people call Whistler home. About 2.7 million visit Whistler on an annual basis. 3. Garibaldi Provincial Park, which borders Whistler Blackcomb. Wedge Mountain is the highest peak at 2,891 metres (9,485 ft). 4. Ross' Gold was named after Ross Rebagliati who won Olympic gold in snowboarding at the Nagano Olympics in 1998. This was the first Olympic snowboard event and Rebagliati was the first Olympic gold medallist. He was given a lifetime pass to Whistler Blackcomb and was allowed to choose a run to be named after him. He chose: "Gandy Dancer." 5.
