New Year's Eve is a busy, busy night in Whistler.
From dinner and dancing, to family events and parties, we've got it covered.
Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden has her own family traditions.
"New Year's Eve is fun. We walk in usually from Alpine Meadows and find an outdoor patio to watch the Fire & Ice Show and the fireworks," says Wilhelm-Morden.
They finish festivities by using the free transit around the resort, which is back again this year.
The annual family night is Whistler Presents: New Year's Eve at Whistler Olympic Plaza, the Maury Young Arts Centre (formerly Millennium Place), along with the teen dance at the Whistler Conference Centre.
Advanced prices are $15 for adults and children 13-plus, $10 for children ages 12 and under, and free for children ages two and under.

The wonderful Fire & Ice Show at Skier's Plaza will have fireworks and fire spinners from 11:30 p.m. Some of Whistler's best skiers and riders hit a big air jump through a blazing ring of fire as you dance into the New Year. Arrive early to get the best viewing locations. The jumps are followed by New Year's fireworks.
The annual King of the Rail competition takes place on Saturday, Jan. 2 at the base of Whistler Mountain.
Try your best riding a series of rails or watch from 6 p.m. Entry is $15. There are prizes, cash and crowns for the winners.

BC Arts Council youth engagement grants
Grant applications are now being accepted for BC Arts Council youth engagement grants.
The program provides support to BC Arts Council-funded arts and culture organizations taking innovative and inspiring approaches to youth programming.
Eligible projects will actively engage young British Columbians with professional arts and cultural organizations, providing youth with the opportunity to learn through working with artists or as audiences or participants.
