Ski jumping coming to WOP this weekend

The future of men's ski jumping is coming to Whistler Olympic Park this weekend.

The Aviva Ski Jumping FIS Cup circuit will take place this Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 6 and 7) at the Callaghan Valley site. Action begins at 10:30 a.m. on both days with a trial round before the first competition round and the final round.

In addition to Canadian entries, the competition will also see skiers from the United States, Norway, Poland and Great Britain.

As well, Saturday will see the HUB Ski Jumping Canadian National Championship for both men and women at 1 p.m.

Training will also be open to the public on Friday, Feb. 5 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Spectators are free to watch all the events with admission to Whistler Olympic Park or with a daily ski or snowshoe ticket or a season pass.

Park admission is $10 a vehicle on Friday or $15 a vehicle on Saturday or Sunday.
