This is the festival's fifth year.

Audain posts art collection online

Ahead of its opening in March, the Audain Art Museum has digitized its entire collection of over 300 works of art.

Searches through the collection can be filtered by artist, time period and location.

The museum will include historical and modern indigenous art, works of Canadian masters like Emily Carr, Bill Reid and Lawren Harris, and contemporary artists of international repute such as Jeff Wall.

The official gala which takes place on Saturday, March 5, is now sold out. The event takes place at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and follows the ribbon cutting of the new $35-million gallery.

TUPs for artists available in March

Whistler artists with already-established home-based studios will be able to apply for temporary use permits (TUPs) in March.

Those with home studios prior to Nov. 17 will be eligible to apply for the permits, which cost $750 and cover a three-year period.

New studios can apply after a year.

Whistler council adopted the bylaw covering the change at their Jan. 26 meeting.
