The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation (WBF) can count on some more funds in its coffers thanks to its annual golf tournament, the Telus Golf Class.

Held Sept. 15 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, the organization's summer fundraiser brought in approximately $200,000, bringing its total tally for 2017 to close to a million dollars.

It was more a challenge this year for sure, but we managed to reach our goal, which was $200,000," said WBF director Mei Madden.

"It was a perfect day."

The WBF is the largest fundraising organization in the corridor, and has handed out close to $12 million to registered charities across the Sea to Sky since launching 26 years ago.

We’ve been certainly really lucky. Our funding dollars have continued to increase year over year," Madden noted.

"It certainly allows us to try and help more and more, and all around the Sea to Sky corridor: All the way up to the First Nation in Mount Currie and all the way down to Lions Bay.

"We’re able to help pretty much anyone who applies to us."

The WBF's upcoming funding application deadline is Oct. 1. Learn more at www.whistlerblackcombfoundation.com/funding.html.
